Dr. Suleiman Ahmed Badayi is a seasoned academic and finance professional with extensive experience in the fields of Accounting and Finance. He began his career at Jigawa State Polytechnic as an Assistant Lecturer and steadily progressed through the academic ranks to become a Chief Lecturer. Over the years, he has held numerous key positions within the institution, including Departmental Examination Officer, Head of Department, Academic Secretary, Director of Quality Control and Assurance, and Director of Academic Planning—roles through which he demonstrated leadership, integrity, and a deep commitment to institutional development.

He is a member of reputable professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of National Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Public Accountants of Nigeria.

In his current role as Rector of Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dr. Badayi serves as the institution’s Chief Executive and Academic Officer. He is responsible for providing strategic leadership, overseeing institutional governance, and managing both academic and administrative operations. His duties include Implementing policies set by the Governing Council, Ministry of Education, and regulatory agencies such as the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), promoting academic excellence, research, and innovation across all programmes, ensuring that all courses meet accreditation standards and continuously improving academic quality, overseeing prudent management of financial resources with an emphasis on transparency, accountability, and effective utilization of both public and internally generated funds, supervising all academic, technical, administrative, and support departments to ensure efficient institutional performance.

Dr. Badayi’s leadership is anchored on discipline, innovation, and a clear vision for elevating the Polytechnic’s reputation in Nigeria’s higher education landscape.

My name is Engr. Sale Yakubu, a COREN registered Engineer, a member of Nigerian Society of Engineers NSE, a member of the Nigerian Institution for Mechanical Engineers (NiMechE) and a certified Quality Assurance Assessor QAA, ICDL certified, Engineering consultant in related discipline, holder of National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), Masters of Engineering Mechanical (Production). Currently the Deputy Rector of the Jigawa State Polytechnic Dutse, assisting Rector in administrative and managing the academic affairs.
An academic and professional with experience in Teaching and Research in Mechanical Engineering, Welding and fabrication for several years. Taught the following courses Fabrication Process, Fabrication Technology, Engineering Measurement, Plastic Welding, Machine Tools Technology, Supervisory Management, Foundry Technology and Engineering Graphics. Project Supervision for various Mechanical Engineering, Welding and Fabrication Students. Holding various responsibilities for Academic, Administrative and other Engineering related activities. A pioneer HOD Welding and Fabrication, Acting Director College of Engineering and Environmental Studies, Two term Director College of Engineering Technology, Director Academic Planning that Coordinate the preparation of academic brief and periodic strategic plans for the polytechnic. Promotion of the quality of teaching, learning and research in the polytechnic through periodic evaluation of academic activities in the polytechnic. I have develop, design and fabricated so many machines among which are: Soap Tableting Machine, Multi-Purpose Cereal Threshing Machine and Kaolin Pulverizing Machine.
Before joining the academia, I served as Principal Engineer (Mechanical) at Jigawa State Due Process and Project Monitoring Bureau gain vast experience and saddled with these responsibilities:
• Vetting and making recommendations on project designs, bills of engineering measurements and other project technical requirements and specifications prior to contracting and implementation on mechanical Engineering related projects;
• Monitoring to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of all capital projects and procurement in line with due process principles from point of contract award to the commissioning stage with proper documentations at all levels;
• Upholding professional ethics and report erring procurement personnel, state government functionaries, departments and private sector companies and their personnel to relevant authorities for appropriate sanctions;
• Monitor prices of tendered items and provide price database advisory services to the procuring entities. Perform procurement audit. Develop, update and maintain relevant database and technology for the state on all procurement by government agencies;
• Accompanying a senior engineer for supervision in all the sites after every two weeks to assess the progress of the projects and ensure the quality of the materials and preparation of report.
My professional technical and engineering carrier emanated from Works & Housing Department under Local Government Service Commission Jigawa State from Technical Officer to Engineers cadre where I rose to Deputy HOD Works and Housing posted to so many Local Governments. Some of the engagement and experiences gain in this sector includes:
Taking part and supervision of general Mechanical works, Transport management, vehicles and plants services and maintenance, and supervision for the Construction of complete solar/motorized small town water scheme, which includes fabrication of overhead tanks, Plant/Solar panel installation and pipe reticulation.
As Deputy HOD Works I engaged in Assisting the Head of Department in the general Technical and administration affairs of the department, Project supervision in accordance with due process guidelines, Monitoring of all Engineering works and Technical Services in the local government and representing HOD in the site meetings.

Mal. Ismaila Umar is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) and Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, and holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Economics, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA), from Bayero University, Kano, in addition to a Diploma in Computer Operations from NATHCOM Computer Institute, Umuahia. He has attended numerous conferences/trainings/ workshops that boosted his knowledge and skills in administration.

Mal. Ismaila has about 20 years span of post-graduation experience, dating back to 2005 when he did his mandatory national service (NYSC) in Umuahia, served thereafter as a teacher in primary and secondary schools in 2006 and later as Staff Officer at the Federal Road Safety Corps, Abuja, up to the end of 2012.

He joined the service of the defunct Jigawa State College of Remedial and Advanced Studies (JICORAS), Kafin Hausa, in December, 2012 as Assistant Registrar and one of the pioneer staffers. When the College was converted to Jigawa State (now Sule Lamido) University Kafin Hausa, He was absorbed in April 2014 on the same rank and continued to rise through the ranks up to the current rank of Principal Assistant Registrar (equivalent to Deputy Registrar in Polytechnic system) in October 2022. I have served in various capacities in the University, including acting for the Registrar in his absence and overseeing the Registry Department at several moments in the University.

In October 2024, Mal. Ismaila was appointed as the Registrar of Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse, by the Government of Jigawa State, Nigeria. He assumed duty in the Polytechnic on 1st November, 2024, where he continues to serve till date.
